Topic: The guest speaker for this month will be Dr Scott Burns, Portland State Professor of Geology. He will speak on the topic of Geology of the Cascades and the Rivers of the Northwest. Professor Burns is extremely knowledgeable regarding the geology of the Northwest and will cover such events as volcano's, earthquakes, shifting contintental plates and flooding that carved the region we know of today as the Pacific Northwest. Professor Burns also has an interesting way of communicating that knowledge in a way that everyone can understand.
